- When you complete an intake or contact form, call us, send an email, opt in to SMS, use chat tools, or provide information for a case evaluation.
From third parties
- Service providers, medical providers, insurance companies, referral partners, other law firms, and marketing and advertising partners.

- Evaluate cases, provide legal representation, prepare case documents, and communicate about case status and outcomes.
- Respond to inquiries, send client-service communications, appointment reminders, billing notifications, and marketing messages where you have opted in.
- Improve website features, understand visitor use, troubleshoot issues, and personalize digital experiences.
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to legal process, protect our legal rights, and prevent fraud and unauthorized activity.
IV. How We Share Your Personal Information
We may share personal information with service providers that support our business, including practice-management, CRM, analytics, communications, payment, intake, security, and AI-enabled case-analytics vendors. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may use information only to provide services to us.
We may also share information with other law firms, insurance companies, healthcare providers, expert witnesses, and consultants when necessary for a legal matter or with your consent.
Sales or sharing under California law
We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing certain identifiers, online-activity data, inferences, commercial information, and geolocation data with advertising partners may be considered “sharing” under California law. Text-messaging originator opt-in data, SMS consent, and phone numbers collected for SMS are never sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
V. SMS-Specific Terms
If you opt in to SMS communications from Block LLP, we may use your phone number, message replies, delivery and engagement data, and case information you choose to share to send appointment reminders, case updates, billing notifications, marketing messages, and legal-service information.
Your number may be shared with our communications vendors, including AWS End User Messaging, HubSpot, and RingCentral, under data-protection agreements. It is not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
- Reply STOP to opt out. We honor opt-out requests within four hours.
- Reply HELP for customer support.
- You may receive one final confirmation message after opting out.
- SMS opt-in records and phone numbers are retained for four years after your last interaction, or until you opt out, whichever comes first.
VI. Retention of Personal Information
We retain personal information as long as necessary to provide legal services, comply with law, respond to legal process, protect our rights, and maintain accurate matter records. Typical retention periods include four to seven years after a case closes for case documents, four years from last interaction for SMS and marketing-consent records, 26 months for website analytics, and the duration of the matter plus four years for email communications.
VII. California Consumer Privacy Rights and Choices
California residents may have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and port personal information; opt out of certain sales or sharing; and receive equal service and price for exercising privacy rights.
To submit a request, email privacy@blockllp.com or call 818-714-0655. Include enough information for us to verify your identity and understand your request. We respond within 45 days, or within 90 days when additional time is needed.
You may opt out of advertising-related sharing by replying STOP to SMS, calling us, or enabling Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, which we honor where required by law.
